Ibtisam Al-Farah was born in Yemen and has been in Sheffield since December 2004. She is an activist woman, believing in women’s rights – every woman, everywhere. Her current focus is on women’s empowerment in relation to community development and speaks internationally on these issues. She has just been awarded her PhD in the School of Education at the University of Sheffield. She is an active participant in the Sisters not Strangers coalition and has her own photography and design company. These are some of the thousands of photographs she took during Lockdown.
