media
posted on 2022-10-05, 13:04 authored by Marie GillespieMarie Gillespie

These videos portray some of the traditional dances of the Somali people. The dances were showcased as part of the Leicester Somali week festival held on the weekend of 23-24 October 2021. The festival brought many of the diverse local communities in Leicester together to enjoy the culture of one of their own. Many of the attendees found it especially heartwarming to have such an occasion at a time when ethnic communities are battling the disproportional. effects of Covid.
