That intimacy and intimate relationships matter regardless of age is something which is only beginning to be recognised, actively researched and indeed, discussed in relation to growing older. Age-friendliness recognises and supports the needs of individuals throughout the life-course, from young children to those of greater age and across life experiences such as disability, parenthood, caring responsibilities, education and careers. This panel discussion will consider issues and activities that communities would like to be supported either in person or online by their local university including the Open University. The panel will draw on case studies on successful practices from member Universities in the Age-Friendly University Global Network and the views of communities local to the Open University campuses across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Further details of panel members to be confirmed at a later date.
