Family metaphors
Carlos is one of the researchers on the Covid Chronicles from the Margins project. He says: “These photos show an asylum seeker family (one parent, 2 children) in metaphors. Discovering daisies on the first springtime walk in the UK. Unity but far distance. Hands united, each with a handful of blackberries: wishing all the family to be reunited. The parent struggles to keep going, separated, isolated, mixed feelings, but still going on together.”
This material is part of the Covid Chronicles from the Margins project, funded by The Open University and the International Institute of Social Studies in the Hague. The project aims to highlight the impact of the pandemic on refugees, asylum seekers and undocumented migrants.
