Interparticle electron capture cross sections for H+ + H2O and H + H2O+

Supplementary data for the publication Virtual Photon Exchange versus Electron Transfer in Interparticle Coulombic Electron Capture, Graves et al., submitted to JCP.


Interparticle Coulombic Electron Capture (ICEC) cross sections are calculated using an ab initio approach as a function of the distance between the charged and neutral particles. The cross sections for the contribution of virtual photon exchange and electron transfer to the total ICEC are also calculated. By replacing the projectile electron with a positron, electron transfer cross sections for positron collisions are evaluated.
