The Black Political Participation database (BPPdb) is a database recording Black British individuals who were politically active in eighteenth and nineteenth-century Britain. The tables record a variety of biographical, locational and political data that was used to build profiles of each individual, which were then used to ascertain political activity. The BPPdb represents an initial stage of research into Black British political history and highlights many areas of research that are yet to be exhausted.
