This survey is one part of a project on climate-responsive counselling that is conducted by an international collaboration of counselling organizations. The proposed survey is intended for national counselling/psychotherapy membership bodies across the globe and explores basic information about the organisation (number of members, geographical location); current activity/good practice by the organisation in relation to climate change (such as publicly available resources, training events, other materials); challenges being raised by their members (questions relating to ethics and good practice, the impact of climate change on the mental health of members); interest in involvement in future collaborative work to develop shared resources, campaign and undertake research. Findings from the survey will be used to inform future work by the partners to support and engage with counselling/ psychotherapy membership organisations across the globe to include a collective statement/declaration of the organisations’ commitment to address climate change, advocacy for greater provision of talking therapies for climate anxiety, as well as the potential to undertake further collaborative research relating to talking therapies and climate change. The UK lead for this project is the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
